A misty, early morning walk along the short trail at the Signature Site of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. The location is just outside of Buckhorn, Ontario. The body of water is the Mississauga River just prior to emptying into Lower Buckhorn Lake.
The section of river is popular for tubing. The short waterfall area at the end of the trail is a great place to cool off in the summer.
The park has limited facilities with a small parking lot just off Highway 36 and a pit toilet attached to the parking lot. However, these limited facilities are enough to warrant Ontario Parks to charge a fee via an automated machine at the entrance.
