A foggy, early morning drive through the village of Lakefield, Ontario. Located just 14 kilometres northeast of downtown Peterborough, Lakefield is part of the greater Township of Selwyn. The township population is just over 17,000 while the village population is under 3,000.
Lakefield is home to Lock 26 of the Trent Severn Waterway. The recreational route runs between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron (Georgian Bay) with 45 locks along the way.
