An unexpected funky remix of Scrum Debate! Or Debate Scrum… Never been sure which one is the right name. This arrangement came very randomly after listening to Rise of the Grendel Super Ultimate version from Kuro no Kiseki and hearing how they turned a track which sounds so similar to Scrum Debate into a funkier version. Inspired, I figured I’d try and do the same for Scrum Debate from Danganronpa V3: Trigger Happy Havoc. Also the theme that I play in my head whenever there’s an argument in real life.

Arrangement wise I went pretty all out in terms of recording instruments. It all started from creating a simple drum pattern that I thought could work well for the ‘chorus.’ Took a lot of trial and error before settling on something that I really liked. Then I figured I’d change it up quite a lot throughout the remix and see what works. Then came the bass. Very new to playing bass so tried to keep it simple and clean.

I knew I wanted a funky guitar pattern throughout but wasn’t sure exactly what it would be. Luckily Oscar Bailey came in with the goods. Cool strum patterns and funky flair. He lives and breathes funky guitar playing and brought the vibes to the track. Huge thanks for his help!

Then it came down to the fun part. Record the horns. I spent a lot of time just figuring exactly what role I wanted each instrument to take. Again, a lot of trial and error, but I like how it turned out. Most important thing with this arrangement was just having a good time. It might have taken AGES to record, edit and mix this I really enjoyed creating it. And of course there’s the video too. Ignore the random moments of black screen. After many exports, my computer just couldn't handle it without some sort of issue.

I’ve always been inspired by YouTube creators who do a lot of acoustic arrangements and remixes such as Marc Papeghin and Insaneintherain so I figured it’s about time I try one! Hope you enjoy it.
