Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a third-person, stealth-action video game, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It marks the beginning of the Splinter Cell franchise and puts players in the role of Sam Fisher, a top-secret NSA field operative specializing in covert intelligence-gathering operations.
When two CIA agents go missing in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, Fisher is sent in to investigate the cause of their disappearance. The evidence he uncovers testifies to the sinister plot conceived by Kombayn Nikoladze, the newly appointed President of Georgia, and brings about NATO intervention in the Caucasus. Now in hiding, Nikoladze launches a series of information warfare attacks against the US as Fisher and the NSA race against the clock in order to locate him and avert the crisis before it develops into another World War.
