In this video I will show you how partial reverse engineering can be used to quickly fix parts. Revering the whole part may deliver better results but also consume more time which may make it not worth the effort for small repairs. The more efficient way is combing the repaired section with the original scan and then directly 3d print it (may not work for machining since the final result is a mesh file). The broken part was scanned with the Sermoon P1 (mainly single line mode to capture the mounting hole) and for reverse engineering I used Quicksurface Pro (regular edition doesn't include the needed CAD functionality). The whole process took under 10 minutes in Quicksurface, scanning roughly the same time. And before anyone asks: I am aware of health concerns, the coffee maker will be replaced sometimes this year and is regularly cleaned.
