DIY How to Jump Start 2021 Toyota Rav4

Описание: This video shows you how to safely jump-start your 2019-2025 Toyota RAV4. Depending on whether you have a Gas, Hybrid, or Prime model, the battery location is completely different! We’ll show you how to find the jump points for both versions so you can get back on the road without damaging the sensitive hybrid electrical system or digging through your trunk.

This guide was filmed on a 2021 Toyota RAV4 and applies to:

2019 Toyota RAV4 (Gas, Hybrid, & Prime)

2020 Toyota RAV4 (Gas, Hybrid, & Prime)

Jump-Start Locations:

Gas Models: Use the battery located under the hood on the driver’s side.

Hybrid / Prime Models: While the actual 12V battery is in the trunk, Toyota provides a dedicated Jump Start Terminal under the hood. It is located inside the fuse box on the driver's side—look for a red plastic flip-cap with a (+) symbol.

Grounding Point (-): For both models, use a solid, unpainted metal part of the engine block or a dedicated chassis bolt as your negative grounding point.

Tools you will need:

Jumper Cables or a Portable Jump Pack

Gloves

Safety Glasses

Steps Covered:

Preparation: Ensuring both vehicles are turned off and parked safely.

Connecting Positive (+): Attaching the red cable to the dead RAV4 first, then to the donor vehicle.

Connecting Negative (-): Attaching the black cable to the donor vehicle, then to the grounding point on the dead RAV4.

Starting: Starting the donor vehicle, waiting a few minutes, then attempting to start the RAV4.

Hybrid "READY" Mode: Explaining why a Hybrid RAV4 doesn't "crank" but instead displays a "READY" light on the dash when it's successfully jumped.
