The Secret of the 14 Sajdah Verses in the Quran — Why Iblis Weeps When You Bow
There is a moment in Islam that collapses the distance between the servant and their Creator.
A single act.
A single movement.
A single moment when the forehead touches the ground.
This moment is called Sajdah.
Hidden throughout the Quran are fourteen powerful verses known as Ayat al-Sajdah, verses that carry a direct command from Allah: bow down.
But why these verses?
Why did Allah place them at specific moments throughout the Quran?
And what happens in the unseen world when a believer performs Sajdah al-Tilawah after hearing one of these verses?
In this documentary-style Islamic video, we explore:
• The deep spiritual meaning of Sajdah
• The 14 Ayat al-Sajdah in the Quran
• What the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said about prostration
• Why Iblis cries when a believer performs Sajdah
• The cosmic reality that everything in creation bows to Allah
• The spiritual medicine hidden in prostration
You will also discover how the verses of prostration appear across the Quran and why they appear in moments discussing:
• The majesty of creation
• The obedience of angels
• The humility of the prophets
• The arrogance of those who reject the truth
• The ultimate destiny of humanity
Scholars such as Ibn Kathir, Imam al-Ghazali, Ibn al-Qayyim, and Imam al-Nawawi wrote extensively about the spiritual power of Sajdah and how it softens the heart, removes arrogance, and brings the servant closer to Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is in prostration.”
(Sahih Muslim)
And in another hadith:
“When the son of Adam recites a verse of prostration and prostrates, the devil withdraws and weeps…”
(Sahih Muslim)
This means that every time a believer performs Sajdah al-Tilawah, they are repeating the moment of Iblis’ downfall — choosing submission to Allah instead of arrogance.
