Описание: 💙 El Mielerito Patirrojo (Cyanerpes cyaneus), también conocido como Mielero Azul o Mielero Patirrojo, es una de las aves más coloridas y llamativas de los bosques tropicales del continente Americano. Los machos exhiben un plumaje azul brillante con patas y ojos rojos intensos, mientras que las hembras presentan tonos verdes que les ayudan a camuflarse entre la vegetación.

📍 Distribución:

En Colombia se encuentra principalmente en regiones húmedas de tierras bajas y bosques secundarios, tanto en la costa Pacífica como en la región Caribe.

💙 The Red-legged Honeycreeper (Cyanerpes cyaneus), also known as the Blue Honeycreeper, is one of the most vibrant and striking birds of the tropical Americas. Males display an intense cobalt-blue plumage with bright red legs and eyes, while females are greenish, perfectly blending into the foliage.

In this episode of the Documentary Series “Birds of Colombia”, we observe its feeding behavior, nectar and fruit consumption, and its interactions within pairs and small flocks.

📍 Distribution:
The Red-legged Honeycreeper is found from Mexico and Central America to the northern and western regions of South America, including Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. In Colombia, it inhabits humid lowland forests and secondary woodlands, both in the Pacific and Caribbean regions.
