SODIUM/POTASSIUM BALANCE & STRESS
Sodium Potassium Balance is the first thing that I look at to determine stress levels and inflammation.
Sodium and Potassium represent a powerful chemical switch in every cell.
When potassium is low relative to sodium some of these switches will be broken.
When enough switches are broken stress levels are elevated.
When potassium is low enough you can be STUCK in a chronic "flight or fight" state whether you want to be or not...
and you may suffer from agitated depression.
The recommended daily amount of potassium is 4700mg a day.
Recommended amount of sodium is 1500mg a day.
Most people get enough sodium.
The average person only gets 2000mg of potassium a day.
That means the average person is high stress due to this very basic chemical imbalance.
