Butzbach (German pronunciation: [ˈbʊtsbax]) is a town in the Wetteraukreis district in Hessen, Germany. It is located approximately 16 km south of Gießen and 35 km north of Frankfurt am Main.
Butzbach, town of the Hesse Day 2007 and officially “Friedrich-Ludwig-Weidig-Stadt” since January 2011, is located in the heart of the federal state of Hesse and is the focal point of an enchanting landscape in the northern Wetterau. Butzbach with its 13 districts is on the edge of the Taunus Nature Park .
