Back to the video content: my framing of the sit-up as - secondarily - an abdominal strengthening movement and - PRIMARILY - an energizing exhale-breathing exercise may change the game a bit for you.
I also address special situations such as back pain or injury, and tight shoulders. You can get the benefits of the sit-up with attention to detail and a better understanding of its purposes.
