The story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The story is told through the eyes of Rafiki, played by legendary South African actor Dr John Kani. Phil de Lange caught up with Kani ahead of the film’s opening.
