WURZBURG. Detailed tour into the *New Munster* of the City. Barroco design in a romosquere building.

Описание: Welcome to a new video at the famous town at the northwest part of Bavaria in Germany. Today we´ll visit the New Muenster Cathedral or church which is a part of the romosquere Saint Kilian´s Cathedral which I´ve visited in 2024. This video shows a tour into the Muenster which was built some centuries later but has a romosquere background and is amazing to see during a stay at Würzburg.

The tour into the New Muenster of Würzburg:
On a day in mid-October 2025 I´ve visited the New Muenster during a stay at Würzburg. Personally I like the town for its tradition of the Franconian Wine and the fortress called Marienfeste. I explored step by step the different corners of this holy building like the roof or two painted pictures which shows two executions one from John the Baptist. Also I visited the crypt where the boons of the holy Kilian are stored together with some celebrities of the history of Würzburg.
The altar shows a nice design of figures, gold and a curtain out of white stuck art which shows a border between the holy altar and the main hall. Under the altar was built a intern chapel which is the rest place of Würzburg and open for everyone to find the rest. I went in this Muenster at the main street and left the building to a door to the inner courtyard between the Saint Kilian’s Cathedral and the New Muenster of the trip.


Some words about the New Muenster:
Built next to the older Saint Kilian’s Cathedral is the New Munster built in a romosquere architecture. The Muenster is very easy to visit via the street where some tramway lines are brings people to different places at the town. The front side and interior was designed by the two architects Dominikus and John Johann Baptist. The main hall looks with its white color, figures and ornamentic like barroc or light rococo. But the ground is still in romosquere design.
The crypt built under the Muenster is a rest and memorial place of the holy Kilian which lost his life with the martyry. In the around 1250 built tomb out of gold are the boons of the holy Kilian. On the left side the blessed spoken pastor called Georg Hafner which staffed in 1942 in the world war II and is built in form of a figure by the artist Hans Osswald. Another tomb is in this crypt where the bishop called 794 died and found his rest at this place.
Also the chapel for rest and peace is nice to visit. It’s a good place for preening and the spirit.
The Muenster is open from 8.00am until 5.00pm without a holy mass inside.
