As soon as I heard that... well you guessed it!! A night flight I will do, no matter what!

Take off from Solenzara, Corsica and landing at Istres, West of Marseille.

This was my second flight in this aircraft.
I take off with the afterburner, as this time, I wanted to test a steep climb...
Well, it is not a fighter jet, so, if you want to go fast, you can't climb too steeply. There was only one way to find out...
I head North West towards Istres, doing a steep turn.

Without using the auto pilot, it needs constant trimming. The only way to find out how it climb and descend is to experiment! So, I shall indeed just do that! Letting the AP do the flying won't show me how it reacts!

Forward view is a bit reduced due to the low canopy that allows for supersonic flight.
For the landing, I decided to err on the side of caution by being too high, since the Istres runway is extremely long at 12,000 feet long. On short final, some cross wind made me drift, so I had to do lots of adjustments... That is why I love having Live Weather: it is harder!
In the video above, it is said it is difficult to land this aircraft, and I confirm it needs concentration...

After landing, I taxi the aircraft. I make sharp turns to show it turns very well.
After turning the 3 engines off, I show the aircraft, then we climb for a high altitude view of the area at night.

Because I fly fighter jets a lot, I find this aircraft a bit underpowered, but it is not! It is me wanting to fly around the whole planet in... 15 minutes...

AIRCRAFT:
This is the Boom XB-1, part of Sim Update 4 of FS 2024: SU4 was released on 8 December 2025.

SCENERY: France VFR South East Riviera, that adds Solenzara and Istres air bases, as the REAL French government BANS default military areas in Flight Simulator. NOT EVEN RUSSIA DOES THAT!!!
