Filmed at the historic Turner-Dodge House & Heritage Site, this episode of Composer's Voice presents Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame for Solo Unaccompanied Soprano, marking Jenny Ribeiro’s third appearance in the series. Moderated by David McCarthy, the program presents fifteen newly composed one-minute works written expressly for Ribeiro’s voice, showcasing her versatility, dramatic clarity, and deep commitment to new music.
Celebrated for her “bright instrument and engaging personality,” Jenny Ribeiro is an internationally active soprano whose career spans opera, chamber music, and contemporary repertoire. Trained as a pianist and clarinetist, she has appeared with leading opera companies and orchestras and is a passionate advocate for living composers, with premieres and recordings on major new-music labels.
This Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame set features music by Erik Branch, Sarah Clevely, R. Michael Daugherty, Clifton Davis, Carlotta Ferrari, Boyd Gibson, Stanley Grill, Stanley M. Hoffman, Maria E. Ljungdahl, Șerban Nichifor, Juan Luis de Pablo Enríquez Rohen, Greg A. Steinke, Melissa Tosh, Anna Vriend, and Frank E. Warren.
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame (FMOF) is a Vox Novus initiative that commissions and presents 15 different works by 15 different living composers for a specific musician, ensemble, or theme. Each project offers a concentrated snapshot of contemporary compositional voices while emphasizing collaboration through concise, one-minute works.
