2025 Iowa State IDPA Championship - 3rd Place Carry Optics

Описание: This was the first time I made it out to Iowa for their IDPA State Championship and I was so impressed with the match, that I'm already planning to shoot their 2026 match. Other than the Standards, every stage had moving targets, there were lots of ports, lots of unique ways to open ports, a great staff, and great shoots and squad mates made it a very challenging and enjoyable match. Thanks to everyone at the Ankeny Izaak Walton League and their Practical Shooters for hosting a great match.

I ended up being too many points down and struggled with some of the specialty activators that you'll see in the video that cost me some time, but overall, I had a good performance. This match was full of stages that would have loved to shoot a second time, that's for sure! One of the lessons I learned at this match was to ALWAYS look at the mechanics of activators and moving targets to insure you know EXACTLY how they function so that you can interact with them properly and if they give you a chance in the walk thru to test time, make sure you DO! The "key" that was required to open 3 of the ports in the match costs me some time for sure.
