Описание: The Central government is exploring ways to implement 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

Nearly two years after the Nari Shakti Vandan Act was passed, the law hasn’t come into effect because it’s linked to the delimitation of constituencies following the next census. Officials are now considering amendments to delink women’s reservation from delimitation, possibly through a temporary mechanism such as a lottery-based system.

If implemented, the 2029 Parliament could be India’s most gender-diverse ever, marking a historic step toward women-led development.
