Queen’s Birthday Parade Gibraltar Rehearsal – 12 June 2019
As is traditional a Trooping the Colour parade was held in Grand Casemates Square, Gibraltar to mark the Official Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The parade was held in the evening of 13 June and a rehearsal was held the previous day.
The parade is loosely based on the Trooping the Colour parade in London but it obviously on a much smaller scale.
The birthday parade was held in honour of the Queen even though she was not herself present. The salute was taken by His Excellency the Governor of Gibraltar, Lieutenant Edward General Davis. The Deputy Commander British Forces Gibraltar, an Army Colonel, took the place of the Governor in the rehearsal.
