I played this one a bit many years ago, way back in 2012, I got to stage 4 before giving up on it. This game has excellent graphics, nice cutscenes to tell the story, all of the in game art looks really good, and animation is smooth, but that is also the game's major flaw, because you can good animation, but it all happens way to slow in this game, and you have to wait for certain frames to complete before you can do something else, like turning, or squatting down and waiting for long animations to finish makes controlling the character frustrating. Also probably because of that slow animation the game character feels very unresponsive, is so hard to time things when you have to adjust to the awful controls. Grabbing ledges is automatic, but judging exactly where that grab point on a ledge, or tree branch is difficult. Some jumps are long and difficult to reach the other side, all the while I am still struggling with moving Ricky around, never mind trying to make it over a wide gap.
So, here am I foolishly revisiting this game and yes, while using a keyboard to play these old games is a bit more challenging than using a controller, still, this is not a heavy fast paced action game, so it can be playable well enough if only the controlling of the character was better, but it is not, is as bad as I remembered from the very first time. This time I only reached stage 3 before calling it quits. I'm thinking it was a good thing this game never came out in the States, and can confidently say, of the recent Famicom games that I've revisited, Space Hunter isn't too bad, and while The Wing of Madoola is quite terrible, I actually enjoyed that one much more than Moon Crystal which I wasn't having fun with at all.
