Kalyan Dutta one of the prime accused in the Dibrugarh ragging incident surrendered before the police on Saturday. Kalyan had earlier taken to social media to claim his innocence in the ragging episode.
Police had earlier arrested Subhrojyoti Baruah, 3rd Semester Political Science student on November 30. So far, the Dibrugarh police have arrested 5 students and four students have been suspended by the university.
Meanwhile, after undergoing a critical spinal surgery that went for three hours, Anand Sharma who jumped off a two-storey hostel building to save himself from an alleged assault by his seniors, is recovering fast from his injuries. Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh district Biswajit Pegu paid him a visit at the hospital earlier today and also interacted with his family members.
