I’m trying to remember all the places these songs were written & recorded… my list of remembered spaces so far: North Carolina; Rhode Island; Vermont; Coastal Oregon; Southern France; Portugal; Colorado; Amsterdam… I guess I was blazing through plenty of places back then, trying to get these songs made in stitches along the way.
I started the song “Hazel Steps” around a time I passed by eastern Germany, not far from where I’m living now: I stopped in at a “free love community”* to take a week studying music, sound, and Reichian philosophy; dancing in the morning, lectures in the day, singing songs at night... ...and watching stars.
