'India and China Must See Each Other As Partners Not Rivals,' Says Chinese Foreign Minister

He stressed that division and confrontation are detrimental to the development of both nations and the rejuvenation of Asia.

Wang Yi referenced previous high-level meetings between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including last August’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, which improved bilateral relations. The diplomat noted that following leadership directions and removing interference is key for achieving shared goals. This comes after a 2024 border accord in Ladakh resolved a four-year military standoff, highlighting the importance of diplomacy and cooperation between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
