In 2017 this young man tried to enter the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main. He was not admitted, and that decision largely determined the course of his life.
One evening he was standing on the street and playing… and, it must be said, he played like a damn genius: Bach, Locatelli, Paganini, Tartini, Ysaÿe — everything poured from under his fingers passionately and effortlessly, the sound literally filling the entire street.
Amazed passersby stopped and filmed him on their phones, and ten years later I managed to track down several of them in order to assemble this video from the footage they captured.
This video is about the fragility of true talent — talents that, if they do not receive the support they need at the right moment, simply disappear.
