Voting for the Erode East byelections got off to a brisk start at 7am on Monday. There are 238 polling booths in the constituency which has an electorate of over 2.26 lakh. Over 3,000 personnel including those drawn from police and paramilitary forces have been deployed. The main fight is between #DMK - Congress alliance candidate EVKS Elangovan and #AIADMK'S Thennarasu. Voting will end at 6pm. Counting is scheduled for March 2.
