Campaigning for the Erode East byelections was at fever pitch on Saturday with Tamil Nadu CM and DMK chief MK Stalin, and AIADMK leaders in the constituency. Campaigning ended on Saturday and the bypolls will be held on February 27. The high-decibel campaigning over the last few days also saw allegations of distribution of money and other freebies to voters. AIADMK and BJP even approached the Election Commission seeking action against DMK.
With 77 candidates in the fray, the main fight is likely to be between DMK-Congress alliance candidate EVKS Elangovan and AIADMK's Thennarasu.
