Princess Cruise Line with Toddlers, 2026 Vacation (See Description)

Описание: Our family of four recently sailed on the Regal Princess out of Galveston for a 7-day New Year’s cruise with our two toddlers (ages 3 and 5). The ports of call were Cozumel — where we did an overnight stay — and Mahogany Bay. Overall, the kids absolutely loved the trip.

When we first boarded on New Year’s Eve 2025, we honestly thought we had made a mistake. At embarkation we saw almost no kids — it felt like a ship full of adults. But once we got on board, we realized there were actually plenty of families sailing too.

One thing to know: if you're looking for an amazing night’s sleep in a deluxe balcony cabin on the aft of the ship, this might not be the cruise for you. The bed felt closer to a queen than a king, and as a bigger guy traveling with two little kids, space was tight. We tried the bunk beds the first night, but the kids just wanted to co-sleep, so we had the steward take them down for the rest of the cruise.

The 7-day itinerary felt a little long for only two ports. In our opinion, this exact itinerary would be perfect as a 5-day cruise.

Our older child absolutely loved the kids club, Treehouse, and wanted to go every time it was open. That ended up being a huge win — we could drop her off and spend some time on the ship with our younger child.

Food on the pool deck was honestly excellent for casual cruise food. The pizza was great, the burgers and fries were solid, and we probably ate there more than anywhere else on the ship.

We did one specialty dining night at the Italian restaurant Sabatini's Italian Trattoria. The only way we could keep the kids seated through dinner was letting them watch a show on a tablet — parents of toddlers will understand that move.

In-room entertainment was surprisingly good. Our daughter loved watching Thumbelina and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

One tip: skip the drink package. For us it didn’t make sense. There’s no way we could drink enough to justify the cost, and you’re also required to pay gratuities on top of it. If we did it again, we’d just buy drinks à la carte and tip as we go.

The kids loved the pools, especially the smaller pool deck at the back of the ship. But if you're looking for water slides or a big water park, this ship doesn’t have that.
Price-wise, this cruise was actually cheaper than sailing the same itinerary on the Carnival Jubilee, which is one reason we chose it.

A few downsides:
The internet was pretty spotty
Room service wasn’t great
And the pizza from room service is definitely not the same as the pizza on the pool deck.

The buffet had plenty of options and was good overall, but after a few days it started to feel a bit repetitive.

Overall, we’d give this cruise an 8 out of 10. It was a great trip with the kids, and we made some great family memories.
