Winter storm floods streets, drops trees on homes in Sacramento

In Citrus Heights, streets near Sunrise Boulevard and Macy Plaza Drive were fully submerged, forcing drivers to turn around and leaving at least one vehicle stranded. Residents and city crews waded into knee-deep water to clear clogged storm drains. In Sacramento neighborhoods including Land Park and near 11th and T Streets, large trees snapped and fell onto homes, knocking down power lines but causing no reported injuries. Neighbors described loud cracks and lightning moments before the trees fell, though officials have not confirmed the cause. Sacramento County officials urged residents to avoid handling storm debris themselves and to call 311 so crews can respond safely as wet and hazardous conditions continue.
