For two years, the Central African Republic has been suffering a devastating humanitarian crisis. More than half of the population – 2.7 million people – are in need of aid. 20% are displaced within or outside of the country. The crisis is declared a level-3 crisis by the UN, the highest level of humanitarian disaster. The EU – the European Commission and Member States – is the largest provider of relief assistance to the country.
