Edging the Ice - Part One

Описание: This will be a two part series on what an ice edger is and how to use one. The first video will cover why ice rinks need edging. The basics of the ice edger and how to operate one.

The second video will be on ice instruction on how to edge the ice properly. This includes how deep to edge, how fast you should edge, how often, and the cut pattern that should follow edging.

The second video will also cover safety and general best practices while edging. I will do a follow up video on changing an edger blade and perhaps one on the different edgers that are out there.

Interesting note, Thompson actually no longer sells the propane edger in the United States. At the time I spoke with them it would have cost them like 16K to have it certified by the EPA. So they sell only gasoline and battery powered electric models. They still sell the propane unit, just not inside the United States.
