Message: YOU SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT
Memory verse: 2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV) “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Matthew 25:14-30 KJV [14] For the kingdom of heaven is as a man...
Beloved, hear the Word of the Lord today: You shall give account.
The Bible makes it clear in 2 Corinthians 5:10 that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Not some. Not a few. But All. That is the day of :-
reckoning.
reporting.
answering.
We are in this world on assignment. Life is not an accident. You were created with purpose,
sent with gifts,
entrusted with resources.
And one day — whether by death or by the coming of our Lord — we shall stand before Him.
THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS
Matthew 25:14-30 KJV let us see the example where people had to give accounts in the bible.
Jesus tells us of a master who travelled to a far country and delivered his goods to his servants.
To one, he gave five talents.
To another, two.
To another, one.
To each according to his ability.
The first two servants
did not despise their portion.
They did not compare.
They did not complain.
They traded.
They labored.
They multiplied.
But the third servant
He allowed fear to paralyze him.
He buried his gift.
He hid his potential.
He produced nothing.
When the master returned, this is where we are going today he reckoned with them. (Accountability)
The first said: “Lord, you gave me five; I gained five more.”
The second said: “Lord, you gave me two; I gained two more.”
And the master replied:
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
But the one who buried his talent had nothing to show. No fruit. No increase. No impact.
Beloved, the tragedy is not having one talent.
The tragedy is doing nothing with what you have.
From the above WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GIVE ACCOUNT?
To give a report
To explain
To describe
To narrate
To answer
Meaning One day you will answer questions such as:
What did you do with your gifts?
What did you do with your time?
What did you do with the souls entrusted to you?
What did you do with your words?
How did you obey My commandments?
Whether you believe it or not WE SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT OF:
1. Our Gifts – Your talent is not decoration; it is for multiplication.
2. Our Resources– Money, influence, opportunities.
3. Souls in Our Care – Family, friends, those we lead.
4. Our Words – Words build or destroy.
5. Our Obedience – Partial obedience is disobedience.
6. Our Children– How we raised and guided them.
7. Our Time – Time wasted cannot be recovered.
8. Our Neighbours – Did we love them?
What determines our heavenly home is how accountable we are to what God has given us.
A CALL TO REFLECTION
If the Master comes today, what will you say?
Will you hear “Well done,” or will there be regret?
God is not looking for perfection.
He is looking for faithfulness.
Not greatness.
But stewardship.
Not comparison.
But obedience.
ALTAR CALL
If you know you have buried your gift…
If you know fear has stopped you…
If you know you have wasted time…
If you know you need mercy…
Come to Jesus today.
Repent. Surrender. Rededicate.
Ask for grace to be faithful.
Today is the day to begin again.
The Master has not returned yet — which means there is still time.
