Retired nurse Julie Lewis meets Phyliis Bhana after seeing The Hui in May 2023 about the historic race-based separatism that discriminated against Māori in Pukekohe. Julie's grandfather, Cuthbert Penney, had a market garden, and she wanted to acknowledge past injustices. They visit Pukekohe Cemetery, where a memorial will be put for those who were buried in graves without headstones.
