In the following article, I describe the formation of stones.⬇
➡Main materials to prepare:
1. Lithium Cells
Type: Li-ion 18650
If using 18650 Li-ion (3.7V/cell) → need to connect 3 cells (3S) to get ~11.1V-12.6V
2. BMS (Battery Management System)
A device to protect Overcharge, Overdischarge, Overcurrent
Choose a BMS that fits the number of cells (3S BMS for Li-ion, 4S BMS for LiFePO4)
3. Nickel Strip
For connecting the cells
4. Spot Welder or Soldering Iron
Spot Welder is used to connect Nickel Strip (safer than Soldering)
If you don't have a Spot Welder, you can use a soldering iron, but be careful not to overheat the battery
5. Wires
For connecting to charge and discharge
Choose a wire that can withstand high voltage (especially discharge wire)
6. Battery Case or Electrical Tape
To avoid short circuit and protect the battery
7. Connector (XT60, Anderson, DC jack)
To connect the battery to the Load or Charger
🧰 Preparation Steps
1. Arrange the cells in Series
Li-ion: 3S (Connect 3 cells in order)
2. Connect the Nickel Strip in Series (Positive to Negative)
3. Connect the BMS:
Preferably according to the BMS Manual
Connect the B+ (Positive), B- (Negative), and B1, B2,... wires to the center of the cell
4. Connect the Output and Charging Wires according to the BMS (P+ and P-)
5. Charge the battery with a suitable Power Supply or Charger (12.6V for 3S Li-ion, 14.6V for 4S LiFePO4)
⚠️ Caution
Do not overcharge
Do not overdischarge
Turn off the power supply or short circuit
Use a good quality battery and a standard BMS
