This is the first video in a series about filet crochet with a large mesh. I used this for a vest and it’s the base for further embellishing with surface crochet. In regular filet crochet you use 2 chain stitches and a double crochet to create a open square, here you will use 3 chain stitchea and a treble. In this video I show you how to crochet the mesh and where to exactly insert your hook into the chain stitches of the previous row at the end of a row. In the next video’s I will show you different ways of decreasing: straight, a slanted decrease of 1 square over 1 row and a slanted decrease of 1 square over 2 rows.
