*As of 11/29/16 (revised on 8/15/2017 for M2), there has been a lot of speculation that the newer "Series 7" styled fixtures are really a revision of Series 4. As such, I have updated the information in the description to reflect this. I still refer to "Series 7," as a enthusiast given nickname to the new revision of the fixture lineup.
A blast to the past...with a modern twist! Yep, this originally had Series 1 components when it was installed, as evident by the Series 1 indicator and lantern on the outside, not to mention, the Series 1 sized call button panel.
This particular elevator was probably installed sometime in the mid/late 1980's up to sometime in the early 1990's. This means the modernization could have occurred sometime in the past decade or so, as evident by the "Series 7" (Newer Series 4/M2) styled emergency light on the panels. Why for the modernization? I'm not quite sure.
For the modernization, there's a slightly different variant of OTIS "Series 7" fixtures that were installed. These buttons seem to push in a little more than the typical Series 4 fixtures used nowadays, just like typical "Series 7" fixtures. These "Series 7" fixtures are the newest revision of the Series 4 fixture line (M2). Also, check out the Amber illumination from these fixtures, nice touch!
This particular elevator is close to the surface lot entrance on the southern side of the complex. Although I took a "joyride" on it, this elevator is primarily meant for handicapped access to the main level, which is about 1/2 a floor upwards.
LOCATION INFO:
Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT (a reservation within Ledyard, CT), is the second largest casino in the United States. Originally opened in 1986 as a simple bingo hall, the complex has grown. First with the Grand Cedar portion (1992), then the Grand Pequot (1997), then Rainmaker (2004), The Fox Tower (opened as MGM Grand in 2008, renamed Fox Tower in 2013), and finally, the Tanger Outlets in 2015. There's quite a bit of elevators in this mighty complex, so I didn't get to them all in one visit. This may take multiple visits to do, every so often.
