Storm Eunice, St Ives & Porthleven, Cornwall, UK

Описание: Storm Eunice hit Cornwall during the early hours of 18th February 2022 so I headed out to St Ives because the news had said that St Ives was going to be one of the worst-hit areas of West Cornwall.

Storm Eunice was at its height between about 3am and 9am. By the time I had got to St Ives at around 7.30am the wind was blowing offshore so there weren't any big waves hitting the harbour walls which was disappointing.

I toyed with the idea of leaving and heading to Porthleven but I stuck around for a couple hours and managed to get some better footage when I headed up to St Nicholas Chapel.

The wind was crazy, easily the strongest wind I have experienced in this country. I genuinely nearly got blown over a couple of times.

After shooting my footage I headed back to the car and drove over to Porthleven. Just before getting into Porthleven, I was confronted with a rather large tree that had fallen into the road covering half of it. If you stick around to the end of the video you will see this.

The tide was on its way out by the time I got there. In hindsight, I should have gone to Porthleven to start with but you live and learn. I still managed to get a decent video out of the day so I'm not too disappointed.
