Kaalikambal Temple is devoted to Devi Parvathi in the form of Kalikambal and Bhagwan Shiva in the form of Kamadeswarar.
The great Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj had visited this temple in 1677. The temple was frequently visited by the great freedom fighter Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharatiyar and he has composed many songs here. He composed and sang the famous ‘Yadumaki Ninrai Kali’ song in devotion of Kaalikambal.
