How to install a pyranometer on the SOLYS 2 sun tracker? This step by step video will demonstrate how easy it is.
To measure Diffuse Horizontal Irradiance (DHI) or Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) you need a pyranometer. This part of the video shows you how to install and level a pyranometer on the top mounting plate of the SOLYS 2 shading ball assembly and how to initially adjust the shading ball(s).
A Kipp & Zonen SMP11-V pyranometer is shown, but it could be any CMP or SMP model, or a CGR pyrgeometer. The procedure also applies to mounting a pyranometer or pyrgeometer on any near-horizontal mounting surface for measuring GHI.
