Barr said Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ first Budget in 2024 delivered a “real shake-up to financial advice”.

Because of these tax changes, as well as regulatory changes and other pressures, including the increasing use of AI and the great wealth transfer, there will inevitably be a “great advice shift”, Barr said.

Speaking ahead of Octopus Live in the Capital, an event being held on Tuesday, September 23, Barr said it was vital to support financial planners give the best advice to clients amid these huge shifts in UK financial services.
