Located in Hertfordshire, Hatfield House is an easy day trip from London by train, and a great place to visit if you love British history. Built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury and Chief Minister to King James I, it’s a prime example of Jacobean architecture. The house is Grade I listed, and The Old Palace was Queen Elizabeth I's childhood home.
