Murali Kauthvam:
Where did the word Kauthvam originate from?
Well, it sounds like the Sanskrit word ‘Koutakam’ meaning praise which makes sense because it is usually a dance in praise of a deity. In this case this beautiful piece is in praise of the Krishna Paramatma. Enriched with both rhythmic and emotional components, this composition will not fail to make us sway to the song. It has a unique structure wherein the words are recited and also sung to a tune.
Oh Krishna, the one who crazes the cows, the one who dances and sings with everyone with pure joy, to you we worship.
Murali Kauthvam- Arabhi,Adhi thaalam, Composer: Madurai Muralidharan choreographed by Smt.Lakshmi venkatesh
