7MP1 heading to Forrestfield, had an interesting consist, mostly empty flats!.
Videoed Tuesday 10th February 2026. 14:20 hrs.
This 7MP1 service was the inaugural first Aurizon Team Global Express Intermodal (Toll.Group) into Perth, back on Tuesday 11th April 2023.
Now in operation for almost three years, in this current eleven year rail haul contract.
Originating from Melbourne on Saturday 8th April 2023. At the time these TGE Intermodals were arriving into Aurizon's Kwinana Yard.
Bypassing their Forrestfied Yard, until a three track intermodal terminal siding of standard gauge was built.
Currently Aurizon's seven weekly TGE intermodals, four from Melbourne, and three from Sydney arrive at their Forrestfield Intermodal Terminal yard.
Presently under construction at track laying stage, is Aurizon's new TGE container Intermodal Terminal in Kewdale, right next door to their interstate rail freight rivals, Pacific National!
Of keen interest, for local rail fans. The Arizon's new Kewdale container terminal, will be of dual gauge use for both standard and narrow gauge operations.
