The disassembler tool has been developed within the DaCapo project at the CIRC-EV Didactic Factory of Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI). The tool has been specifically designed to identify the optimal disassembly path for smartphones, initially as a use case for the Fairphone Model 3; however, it can be applied to other types of products, as the underlying algorithm is fully flexible and customizable.
The tool can be used in repair centers to reduce disassembly time, or in facilities where valuable components need to be recovered for reuse from end-of-life phones.
