Carolyn Griffey is a dynamic vocalist, executive, and cultural ambassador whose career spans over 35 years in the music industry. As the daughter of Dick Griffey—premier Black concert promoter, co-founder of the Soul Train Club, co-founder of Soul Train Records, and founder of SOLAR Records—Carolyn carries a unique legacy that helped shape modern Black music.

An accomplished executive, Carolyn has held roles in A&R Coordination, Marketing & Promotions, Artist Development, and Touring Logistics at SOLAR Records, giving her a rare, 360-degree perspective on the business side of music. She continues that legacy as a member of Shalamar, the groundbreaking group her father and Don Cornelius formed from Soul Train dancers, which became the first major hit act on Soul Train Records—a true full-circle moment where the show’s culture created the stars, and the stars amplified the culture.

As an active board member and one of the owners of SOLAR Records, Soul Train Records, and the Soul Train Club, now relaunched in the UK, Carolyn works to bridge the historic legacy of these brands with modern audiences.
