1️⃣ Zone Identification for Inspections
📍 Land Rig Zones:

Zone 1: Crown Area
Zone 2: Upper Derrick to Monkey Board
Zone 3: Travelling Equipment + TD Rails
Zone 4: Under Monkey Board to Rig Floor
Zone 5: Lower Substructure and BOP area
Zone 6: Cranes, communication masts, storerooms, machinery spaces, living quarters (internal/external), and other areas determined by the PIC.
📍 Offshore Rig Zones:

Zone 1: Crown to Water Table
Zone 2: Upper Derrick to Monkey Board
Zone 3: Travelling Equipment and TD Rails
Zone 4: Under Monkey Board to Rig Floor
Zone 5: Lower Substructure/Cantilever and BOP Deck
Zone 6: Cranes
Zone 7: Jack Houses and Raised Platforms
Zone 8: Navigation/Communication Masts
Zone 9: Living quarters (internal/external)
Zone 10: Other areas as determined by OIM/PIC
2️⃣ Inspection Frequency

Weekly: Derrick areas (Zones 1-4, Cranes).
Monthly: Below Rig Floor, Substructure, BOP area, masts, shale shakers, mud/cement tanks, mixing areas, living quarters, and other determined areas.
3️⃣ Additional Inspections
🔍 Required for:

Raising and lowering masts.
Rigging up new equipment.
Pre-spud operations.
Excessive vibrations.
Fishing and jarring.
Adverse weather conditions.
4️⃣ Independent 3rd Party Surveys
✅ Must demonstrate competence in:

Survey and inspection techniques.
Rope access qualification.
Working at height procedures.
Rig-specific permit-to-work systems.
Use of approved tools at height.
5️⃣ Survey Requirements
📸 Tasks include:

Document equipment location.
Photograph and describe each item.
Inspect and record retaining methods.
Record pass/fail equipment conditions.
Generate corrective actions and fail lists.
Identify and remove immediate hazards.
