With Jeb otherwise indisposed Val has been relishing her new role as chief test pilotess. Next out the stables is the Maelstrom; a medium SSTO that is rumoured to be able to make it to the Mun and back on a single tank. Well, there's only one way to find out!

In the words of the great Mark Hollis; “Before you play two notes learn how to play one note — and don’t play one note unless you’ve got a reason to play it.”. To this end I finally feel ready to graduate to multi engine SSTO designs. This one was quite a long time coming as I had very specific goals in mind for performance, balance, looks and handling, the last of which exceeded my expectations by a country mile! This thing handles more like a fighter then a space plane and is so manoeuvrable it'll turn quite happily pirouette round the sky using its reserve Delta-Deluxe Winglets. It has enough grunt to make it to the Mun and back which for a purely Rapier powered design is not bad at all.

For our soundtrack this week I thought I'd chuck in something a bit more well known. I'm ashamed to admit I've only really discovered Cake recently but am loving everything I've heard so far! They're also fantastic live which is always a bonus. ;)
