Solo Travelling in Santorini (+Naxos) || SUMMER VLOG!

It's time for my summer vacation and I decided to take you with me!
I couldn't be more excited for this one!
As you may already know, I LOVE TRAVELLING!!!
This is the first time after may years that I'm going on vacation somewhere in Greece, my first time in SOLO TRAVELLING, as well as my first time in the Greek islands!
I've been saving money for almost two years in order to go on this adventure and I'm really proud of myself that I made it, as wel as very excited for all the beautiful experiences I gained in just a few days.

The reasons I decided to go alone were a lot:
● First of all, I needed to spend some time with myself after a long time of not caring about me as much as I should. I also needed somtime away from people and maily of people I know. I doubt if this sounds right, but there's no other way to describe it and I believe that you can only get me if you've felt this way, too. There are times in our lives that we spend too much time with the same people doing the same things all over again. We get tired and angry and we don't why. We just need to break the circle for new things to come and actually see ourselves developing and growing.
● This was the second year without any activities outside. The last months were only about studying and watching daily online lessons. I've spending too much time on electronic devices and absolutely had to take a long break and change this. I couldn't ignore again my inner voice that was calling for rest after so much time that I've been overworking myself and putting much pressure on myself.
● My mental health was not going so well over the past few months. I started feeling much better in June, since I had to focus on my exams, that went pretty good! However, the excitement for my vacation helped the most and I think there's no need to mention how much the vacation itself helped me to improve my mentality! It helped me so much with self-love and self-care and I totally suggest solo travelling if you're going through similar thoughts or life situations.
● Travelling alone seemeed like the perfect life situation where I could put into practice skills I've been developing for years. For how long would I keep learning about language, cultures, communication and independence just in theory? I had to finally take action. It was a great chance for me to step out of my comfort zone, use my brain to make out solutions, stop calling somebody in the slighest difficulty, talk to new people and prove to myself I'm a smart and independent human being not in words, but in real life situations. Well, in case you're wondering, I succesfully passed the test. 😅
● Finally, I don't have many close friends. It may be my fault that I got kind of distant during the lockdown and due to my infinite list of obligatory work through the academic year. It may be the fact that we need to take our distance sometimes and see who is actually there for us and who isn't. It dosn't mean that I don't have good friends; just not best friens and I'm completely fine with it. I find it a bit difficult to get too close with people right now. I enjoy company, but I like being with myself and taking desicions for myself. Besides, we can't spend our whole lives waiting for other people to decide to go on vacation just for us to follow them. We need to tke our lives in our hands and even if you're a bit scared now that you're reading this, I'm telling you that I was scared too; taking this risk was the best desicion I've ever taken for myself, though.
What you earn during solo travelling is much bigger than what scared you for a few moments.
If you haven't done this yet and you're planning to it, or you're thinking about it, go for it!
I guarantee you this will be the best experience of your life. You own this to yourself. Stop thinking about others for once. Stop thinking about the limitations and do you. You're not gonn regret this.
