Описание: Join us for our next folk evening on Tuesday 28th September at 8pm where we will be showcasing the amazing Rodney Branigan. Another journey into the folk music passions, pastimes, performances and studies from the folk music circuit. Wonderfully diverse music and fascinating lives!

Who is it?
Home Stage is proud to present Rodney Branigan, a Texas-born ex-pat who now lives in Somerset. Describing his music as “full-contact folk,” Rodney has performed across America, Europe, Africa and India, touring with such names as Seth Lakeman, Show of Hands, Billy Bragg and Stereophonics. He has been a regular at festivals such as Glastonbury, WOMAD, Green Man and Small World.

What does he do?
Seasoning his songs with sprinklings of Americana, he uses precise rhythms to push the music along, frequently employing a guitar played in tandem with a second guitar, mandolin or drum! His music is more than spectacle, however, as tracks such as One Seed display. One Seed presents a tender reflection on nature and the randomness of life, with softly expressive vocals and mature finger-style guitar.

What’s his story?
Endorsed by Yamaha Guitars after being discovered in LA, Rodney spent some time in Nashville, writing for EMI with Dave Loggins (who has written for such country stars as Reba McEntire, Billy Ray Cyrus, Don Williams, and Kenny Loggins). Then invited to play a headline slot at Hampton Court Palace in the UK, Rodney fell in love with this country and hasn’t left since! Tours followed in China (playing at the Forbidden City) and India before Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis personally asked him to headline Glasto Extravaganza in front of 15,000 people. This led to a coveted spot at Glastonbury Festival, playing The Acoustic Stage in front of a capacity crowd.
