Hey guys, welcome back to NextGenBlogger and in this video I want to show you how to speed up or slow down video in Blender Video Editor. Now to demonstrate this I've already opened up the video editor in Blender and I've also added an Image strip. So this is my Image strip present right here.

And let me quickly play this animation for you. Now, if you want to speed up or slow down a video, what you need to do is, first you need to select the Image strip. Next you need to go to the 'Add' menu.

Next you need to go to 'Effect Strip'. Next you need to select this option that is 'Speed Control'. Next you need to look inside the 'Strip' panel which is present right here.

And inside the 'Strip' panel you're going to find this section called 'Effect Strip'. And inside this section you're going to find this option called 'Speed Control' where currently 'Stretch' is selected. So there are various options using which you can adjust the speed of your animation.

So if you click on this drop down list, you will see all those options. So we have 'Stretch', 'Multiply', 'Frame Number' and 'Length'. For this tutorial, I will be using the 'Stretch' option.

So let me select this option. And what this option basically means is you can stretch the Image strip as per your choice. So let's say I want to speed up this animation.

So let me stretch this Image strip like this. And let me decrease the duration of the animation like this. And so now if I play the animation for you.

So as you can see, we have successfully sped up the animation. Now let's say I want to slow down this animation. So simply stretch this Image strip like this and increase the duration of the animation.

And so now if I play the animation for you once again. And this time, as you can see, the animation is happening really slowly. So this is how you can speed up or slow down a video in Blender Video Editor.
