#UNESCO is committed to supporting Timor-Leste’s efforts toward sustainable peace by enhancing the quality of education. Since 2021, through the History and Peace Education Initiative, UNESCO has partnered with the Government of Timor-Leste, led by the Ministry of Education and the Chega National Centre, to strengthen history education in schools.
This video highlights key achievements of the initiative, including the development of a teacher training manual on history education and intensive capacity-building training for history teachers of Grades 7–12. By ensuring inclusive, participatory, and high-quality history education, the initiative aims to empower educators and contribute to peace, justice, and prosperity in Timor-Leste.
