This cervical extension isometric may help.
Instead of throwing the head back into end range, this exercise builds controlled strength in mid-range through the back of the neck.
The goal is small, controlled engagement rather than pushing farther into extension.
Start around 10–20% effort.
You should feel muscular engagement along the back of the neck rather than compression in the joints.
When the muscles supporting the neck gain strength and coordination, the position often becomes more comfortable and controlled.
